SFA received two grant projects from NCR-SARE on networking for soil health and is about to embark on a new professional development project from SARE for training professionals on silvopasture techniques. To recap the past work and discuss future developments, SFA invites members of our Soil Health Network to attend a virtual meeting to wrap up and celebrate the great work that has resulted from these two SARE-PDP grants. The meeting is 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 21.
The meeting will be conducted via the online Zoom platform; meeting access instructions will be emailed upon registration. Agenda items include:
- Summarize the "downstream" soil health education events.
- Get feedback from scholarship recipients. And hear from a couple of recipients about their downstream events.
- Hear from new offices and partnerships on soil health: Jennifer Hahn from the MN Soil Health Coalition and Anna Cates from the MN Office of Soil Health.
- A representative from North Central Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) will discuss funding opportunities through their programs.
- SFA will introduce a new focus on silvopasture and training opportunities for agricultural professionals to become leaders and promoters of silvopasture.
