Asparagus Field Day at Big River Farms

Another workshop has been announced as part of SFA's ongoing Growing and Marketing Minnesota Asparagus Project: 5:45-8 p.m. Wed., Sept. 11, at Big River Farms, 14220B Ostlund Trl N, Marine on St. Croix.

This hands-on field day that will cover the basics of successful asparagus production in Minnesota: site selection, ground prep, sourcing crowns, equipment needs, installation, care, harvest, and markets. This course will be taught by experienced asparagus farmer Paul Schmidt of Schmidt Farm in Preston and Annie Klodd, U. of M. Extension Educator.

Cost: $10.
