Garlic Growers Field Day: Wadena

SFA's Garlic Growers Networking Group is hosting a field day from 2 to 5 p.m. Sun., June 30, at Garlicky Bohemian Farm, 12729 County Rd 100, Wadena. 

Located just south of Wadena and specializing in porcelain hardneck garlic, Anita Small and Phil Iverson grow about 6,000 bulbs per year and sell it primarily at a farmers market. Their farm is one of the MN Premium Garlic Project field trial sites, and at this field day Anita and Phil will talk about their trials on spring fertilization, seed dip treatment, planting dates and mulch removal.

There will be a potluck social hour after the tour, so please bring food or drink to share. Also bring along a lawn chair, unless you don't mind sitting on the ground.

This event is free and open to all, but an RSVP is required.
