Forage Council Summer Tour: Staples

The Crow Wing River Basin Forage Council, a networking group of the Sustainable Farming Association is hosting a summer tour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 26 at Central Lakes College, 1830 Airport Rd, Staples as part of the larger SFA Soil Health Network Event, the CLC Ag & Energy Field Day.

This event, which is free and open to all, includes an open house at the CLC agricultural center and tour of its Byron Township site. There, the college, R.D. Offutt Co. and SFA, among other partners, are working to research soil health principles through cover cropping, crop rotation, and other principles. Attendees may come to the entire day's programming or just the Forage Council portion.
