Farm2Families Planning Meeting

Mark your calendars! To prepare for our Farm2Families event coming up in August, all SFA Greater Mille Lacs Chapter members are invited to a planning meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the event site, the Heimark Farm at 33683 Dove St, Aitkin. 

Some of us have gotten the planning started but there is still plenty room for creativity and ideas! We also need volunteers to help with various committees such as food, farm store, demos, activities, entertainment, and others. What is your area of interest? What are you good at? We want to hear about it! What are your questions? Bring them all!

Regarding the food for the event, we want to serve as many local products as possible. Erik Heimark, food committee chair, has worked out a menu and budget; RFPs will be going out to members so you will be able to submit your items for consideration. Be watching for this very soon.

Also, if any of you have tent awnings for sheltering/shading, please let us know if we can use them during the event.
