Silvopasture Field Day and Workshop - Mankato

An educational workshop and field day on Silvopasture and Oak Savanna Restorations will be held Thursday, June 24 at beginning with registration at 8:30 am and program starting at 9 am at the Greater Mankato Business Development Center (Sakatah Room).  Presentations will be in the morning with a box lunch served at noon.  Participants will reconvene at the Minneopa State Park at 1:30 for talks and tours of the oak savanna restorations and the bison managed on this eco-region. The intended audience is conservation professionals (SWCD and NRCS staff), farmers, landowners and others interested in these topics.

1:30-3 PM - Tour at Minneopa State Park: 54497 Gadwall Rd, Mankato, MN 56001. Meet at Seppman Mill.

This workshop is free, funded by a Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) grant . This event is led by the University of Minnesota Extension and co-sponsored by SFA.

SFA's COVID-19 Preparedness Plan will be implemented at this event. Registration strongly encouraged for planning purposes. Walk ups welcome but cannot be guaranteed lunch.

Masks are required for those who have not recieved the full COVID-19 vaccination during the indoor portion of the event.
