Description

A new group, Twin Cities Growers Network, is being launched to connect anyone who grows produce seriously and seeks education, networking and fellowship. Whether you grow for market, personal or community use, or to rediscover indigenous and ethnic roots, if you want to network with like-minded people in the metro, this group is for you.

The Growers Network is hosting a rescheduled kickoff event at from 1 to 3 p.m. Wed., March 13, at The Good Acre, 1790 Larpenteur Ave W, Falcon Heights. The agenda:

  • What is, and Why Have, a Growers Network? – Karl Hakanson, U. of M. Extension-Hennepin County.
  • Gardeners as Keepers of our Cultural Heritage - Kitt Healy, Organic Seed Alliance
  • Seed Security is in Our Hands: Local Efforts, Resources, and Tips for Growing Seed – Andrea Eger
  • Selecting Pest Resistant Seeds - Annie Klodd, U. of M. Extension
  • Seed Swap! – Bring your viable seeds to share and swap; get to know and learn from your fellow growers about different crops and varieties. Identify your seeds so fellow swappers can label their envelopes.
