Cannon River Annual Meeting

On Saturday, January 26th, refreshments and networking start at 10:30 a.m. Keynote speaker MN Dept. of Agriculture Assistant Ag Commissioner Susan Stokes will present at 11 a.m. A noon potluck lunch will feature a hotdish contest so bring your favorite hotdish to share.

The Cannon River SFA chapter meeting will follow lunch. Meeting will include an update on the new Cannon Valley Grown initiative that brings together farmers, makers, and producers to create a collaborative marketing initiative committed to values-driven business and thriving local economies. Members will have the opportunity to vote and plan future workshops, such as mitigating climate change effects; specialty livestock workshops; financial management; food licensing; social media 101; cover crops for vegetable producers or others suggested at the meeting.

The Cannon River SFA Chapter encompasses sustainable farmers, food makers and like-minded consumers in the general area of Dakota, Dodge, Goodhue, LeSueur, Rice, Scott, and Steele counties. The Cannon River SFA annual meeting is free and open to the public. Information on becoming a Sustainable Farming Association (SFA) member will be available at the meeting and can be found at sfa-mn.org/cannon-river/.
