Description

Local Farm Tours in Wright County: farms that focus on water quality and the environment - Registration is closed.

The public is invited to two farm tours on May 22, 2021, near Howard Lake and Buffalo. Both of these farms will show how regenerative farming practices can improve water quality and help the environment.

The first tour starts at 10:00 a.m. at Living Song Farm, which is five miles north of Howard Lake. This farm has been in the Kreitlow family since 1898, with Marienne Kreitlow and her husband, Jerry Ford, as the current operators. In addition to raising grassfed beef and certified organic garlic, Living Song Farm has been practicing soil and water conservation since the 1940's. Situated just a half-mile from the North Fork of the Crow River, Marienne and Jerry believe it is their responsibility to protect our state's waterways.

The second tour is at Solar Fresh Produce, which is located between Buffalo and Rockford. You must register separately for each tour, register for that one here.

Sturdy shoes or boots, plus insect and sun protection are recommended. Admission is free!
