Women and USDA FSA Programs Workshop

05/17/2018 05:00 PM - 07:00 PM CT

Description

SFA and Central Minnesota Young Farmers Coalition are hosting a free event, “Women and USDA Farm Service Agency Programs,” that provides an opportunity to learn about FSA programs, connect with local FSA offices, and network with other farmers and landowners.

The workshop will be 5-7 p.m. Thurs., May 17, at Milk and Honey Ciders, 11738 County 51, St. Joseph.

Presenting will be SFA Executive Director Theresa Keaveny, who will discuss the range of FSA programs and help women identify which programs are right for them.

"We are reaching out to women farmers and farmland owners to give them an overview of the many programs to help family farmers, from conventional to organic producers," Keaveny said. “Some women are new to farming, others are part of existing operations or own land and want to get more involved. These lunch gatherings provide an excellent opportunity to build connections with other farmers and farmland owners."

This event is free and open to all; no RSVP is required. Information: Theresa Keaveny, 507.766.9159 or theresa@sfa-mn.org; or Rachel Brann, 630.335.5106.
