U. of M. Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships and SFA Lake Agassiz Chapter are hosting a workshop, “Low Tunnel Day-Neutral Strawberry Production” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fri, April 6, at White Earth Tribal and Community College, 2250 College Rd, Mahnomen.

With the low tunnel, day-neutral strawberry production system, Minnesota farmers can grow and harvest strawberries late into the fall. At this workshop, Steve Poppe, senior horticulture scientist at West Central Research and Outreach Center, will share the latest research and best practices for day-neutral strawberry season extension. 

This event is intended for growers interested in strawberry production, as well as culinary professionals and other local businesses interested in sourcing locally grown strawberries. Networking lunch and optional site tour included.
