Livestock Expert Curt Pate Leading Forage Council Stockmanship Workshop

 

The Crow Wing River Basin Forage Council, a Networking Group of SFA, is co-sponsoring a stockmanship event this September featuring well-known livestock expert Curt Pate. This workshop is part of a series of events led by Pate in the same week at five Minnesota sites. 

 

Pate's stockmanship workshops are known for sharing effective demonstrations that focus on the economic benefits of correctly handling livestock. He will also discuss the impact that improved livestock handling practices create for the sustainability of the cattle industry. The workshop:

 

Wed., Sept. 16 – 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Sunup Ranch, 12316 County 18 SW, Brainerd. $30 adults and $5 for students. Preregistration required. The program will begin at 9:30 AM. Please bring a lawn chair for comfort.

 

This event will also feature an optional Beef Quality Assurance seminar from 3:30-5 p.m. led by Allison VanDerWal, Executive Director, Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association. Please check the box upon registration if you wish to attend. This BQA seminar is free and those who complete the training will be certified for three years.

 

This event will take place outside with social distancing guidelines in effect including instructors and staff; SFA recommends bringing face masks to its events.
