DGA/SFA Pasture Walk: Cold Spring

Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship, in partnership with SFA, is hosting a series of pasture walks this fall. Each event will be led by SFA/DGA Coordinator Angie Walter, participating farmers and a soil health/forage expert.

This workshop is set for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 2, at Derek Schmitz farm, 25113 County Rd 50, Cold Spring. Topics include diverse cover crops for grazing cows, harvesting cover crops, raising replacement calves on nanny cows and soil health.

This event is free and open to all but registration is required. Event will be limited to 25 attendees, including instructors and staff, and attendees will be expected to follow social distancing. SFA recommends bringing face masks to its events.
