The Crow River Chapter is hosting several SFA expert speakers during its annual meeting, “Healthy Soil, Healthy Farms, Healthy Community,” from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Delano Senior Center, 234 2nd St N, Delano.
The day begins with coffee and social time followed by presentations, which include:
• Kent Solberg, SFA Livestock & Grazing Specialist – “Soil Health for Small Farms and Vegetable Growers”
• Theresa Keaveny, SFA Executive Director – “Farm Service Agency Programs for Small- to Mid-Sized Farms”
• Sarah Lindblom, Garlic Festival Co-Director – “How Can We Make Garlic Festival Even Better?”
• Dale Woodbeck, General Manager, Lakewinds Co-op – “The Local Foods Movement: What Now?”
Cost is $10 for current SFA members and $20 for nonmembers.
